Putting is hard. REALLY hard. You don’t need your equipment to make it harder.

But if you’re putting with an imbalanced ball, that’s what’s happening. You’ve probably seen it before. You read the green right, you approached the ball right, and you struck a great putt. It was headed right to the back of the cup, then, at the last minute, it veered to one direction or the other. No birdie, no par save. Just another (needless) stroke on your scorecard. It’s maddening.

And if you play enough, it probably happens a lot. That’s because almost no golf ball is manufactured to be perfectly round. Each one is uniquely lopsided, and thus, each one has a uniquely off-centered roll. One may roll to the right, another may hook off to the left. You just don’t know.
